Dream(s)tree(m)

Paris, France · 2017

Dream(s)tree(m) is an audiovisual project that explores the dream world as a collective space. Built from a montage of interviews conducted between 2016 and 2017 in Rome, Paris, Barcelona, and Buenos Aires, the work is based on intimate conversations in which people share their dreams. These testimonies are interwoven with sequences from classic and contemporary films that explore the dream realm in various ways.

The title Dream(s)tree(m) is a wordplay evoking the image of a tree, a stream, and a dream, suggesting an organic and branching flow of images, voices, and thoughts. The project uses the mash-up technique to create a fluid and poetic montage where different languages and narratives merge, generating new meanings. Through this approach, the dream is explored not only as an individual phenomenon but as a mirror of the times, of collective fears, and hidden desires.

Dream(s)tree(m) invites the viewer to lose themselves in a visual and sonic stream where the dream becomes both language and possibility. It is an immersive experience that traverses intimacy and memory, suggesting that what we dream, whether asleep or awake, may be our most honest way of inhabiting the world.
